Suertes del Marqués La Solana is a red wine from the Orotova Valley DO produced by the Suertes del Marqués winery. This winery is located in Tenerife .
Suertes del Marqués La Solana is a single-varietal Listán Negro (a native variety). The grapes come from old vineyards over 100 years old, located at an altitude of between 400 and 520 meters with a northeast exposure. The vineyards are cultivated using a unique braided multiple cordon system.
The vineyards grow on soils made up of a poor layer of volcanic rock, which contributes to the harmonious combination of minerality and fruitiness in the wine.
To make Suertes del Marqués La Solana, the grapes are incubated in small open concrete vats, where they undergo cold pre-fermentation maceration.
After a controlled-temperature maceration with manual punch-down, fermentation takes place in 500-liter French oak barrels (80% Allier, 10% Vosges, and 10% Centres).
The same barrels undergo malolactic fermentation with batonage and aging for approximately 10–12 months.
