Pairings That Won't Go Wrong - European Classics Edition - Vyne

Sometimes all you need is the comfort you find in familiar settings. Our friends Chien & Ying Ai revisited some no-brainer classic pairings with us, but sharing their own preferences with us too!

To pair with 3 classic European dishes this time, our wine of choice is the Trapiche Malbec 2022 — a full-bodied red with hints of dark fruit and a unique, slightly “bloody” aroma that makes it a bold pairing option.

Wine Rating

Chien: ⭐⭐⭐ ½ (3.5/5)

Ying Ai: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5)

1. Pairing With Lasagna 🍝

A hearty, rich, and cheesy staple:

  • Chien prefers it without gravy, feeling that it lets the wine’s bold notes shine through. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5)

  • Ying Ai thinks the gravy enhances the pairing, making it smoother and more balanced. ⭐⭐⭐ (3/5)

2. Pairing With Pork Ham 🥩

Savory, salty, and slightly smoky. Both the girls agreed that the pairing amplifies the wine’s fruity notes, that creates a perfect balance of saltiness and boldness!

  • Chien: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5)

  • Ying Ai: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)

A must-try! This pairing enhances the wine in an unexpected yet delightful way.

3. Pairing With Blue Cheese

Intense & creamy that transformed the taste of the wine completely, unlocking some hidden notes and creating mouthwatering experience. The richness of the cheese cuts through the tannins, creating an indulgent sensation. This pairing was clearly the winner for both of them!

  • Chien: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)

  • Ying Ai: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐½ (5.5/5)

🔥 A creamy, pungent blue cheese is the perfect pairing for this wine!
